A Facebook video was posted on May 8th, 2018 shows six San Diego County sheriff’s deputies violently arresting two men.
According to the department’s press release, a woman called the police and reported that she was in a domestic violence situation involving a weapon and was being forced to stay there against her will.
In the 22-second video posted on Fox 5 San Diego, you can see a deputy slam the head of one of the handcuffed suspects into a gate.
Seconds later you can see another suspect laying on the ground while another deputy strikes him in the head multiple times.

Both the suspects, Gerardo Martinez Jr. and Gerardo Martinez Sr., were wounded in the scuffles.
“Upon reviewing the video, we immediately opened an internal investigation into the actions taken by the deputies,” Sheriff Bill Gore said in a statement.
“This review will be comprehensive and include reviewing body-worn camera video, all relevant reports and interviews with involved parties.”
Gerardo Martinez Jr. was arrested for false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon. Gerardo Martinez Sr. was arrested for obstructing deputies but later released after posting bond.
Two of the deputies seen in the video have been placed on paid administrative assignment pending the outcome of the investigation.
